WORKMANSHIP

Over the last little while, we have had some different jobs done, by different tradesman. It is interesting to see the levels of pride that the tradesman have in their completed work. Some are excellent, while others are slap-dash. I know whom I will use should further work be required in their area of expertise.

Ephesians. 2:10. (Message) No, we neither make nor save ourselves. God does both the making and saving. He creates each of us by Christ Jesus to join him in the work he does, the good work he has gotten ready for us to do, work we had better be doing.

RAIN DROPS

Rain drops keep falling on my head. So the song goes. What a great feeling today to walk in the fresh-air, with a crisp breeze, and sprinkles of rain. After a long dry-spell, it was a welcome refreshment.

I recall my Grandfather saying that he was getting wet walking down Brunswick Road, so he crossed over to the other side where it was dry.

There is an important move in our country to continue planting drought tolerant plants. This is a valuable exercise, that will benefit the conservation of our water resourses for the future.

A good question for today: Can I survive and flourish, in hard times?

Rev. 22:1-2 Then the Angel showed me Water-of-Life River, crystal bright. It flowed from the Throne of God and the Lamb, right down the middle of the street. The Tree of Life was planted on each side of the River, producing twelve kinds of fruit, a ripe fruit each month. The leaves of the Tree are for healing the nations.

OOZE! OOZE!

The study of the Bible, is an amazing journey. So too, life, is an amazing journey. Understanding what it is, that drives our day to day adventures, can be very enlightening, and liberating.
I recall, Peter, a man with whom I worked alongside, had his life filled with praise for the Lord, in every situation. Whenever a provision was availed, praise for his Lord would follow. It simply just oozed out.
Psalm 146:1 Hallelujah! O my soul, praise God!
Luke 1:46 And Mary said, I'm bursting with God-news;
Here is a contrast, from almost reminding oneself to praise, to bursting almost uncontrollably.
What do, we ooze?

Generations

Ambrose Barrett Rowe is the first generation of my family that are Australian Born. Along with his wife, Annie Susannah (Cloke), their Birth and Burial place is in Central Victoria. It is great to know about my heritage. In fact these people were a great influence on my life, even though I did not know them. Ambrose and Annie, brought-up my father, in their mature age. I do not remember much that was said about them, although I do remember the tone of my father's voice, when he spoke about them. I always had the sense that my father loved them both dearly.

What will be said of this generation?

Psalm 24:6 This is the generation of them that seek him, that seek thy face.

Ma, the rains are here!!!

You have to smile at some of the commercials, with their content. However it is another matter to see the dry dams and reservoirs around the State. In recent days there has been some rain in the Gippsland area, and the pastures are beginning to have a green tinge about them. We trust that this is the beginning of a normal rain cycle for this area. I am reminded of the Scriptures that read: Be glad, . . . , rejoice in the Lord your God, for he has given you the autumn rains in righteousness. He sends you abundant showers, both autumn and spring rains, as before. (Joel 2: 23. N.I.V.) Oh, that the drought of righteousness, may also end!!
