The Gift and Gifts of Healing

Each person is given something to do that shows who God is: Everyone gets in on it, everyone benefits. All kinds of things are handed out by the Spirit, and to all kinds of people! The variety is wonderful:

clear understanding
simple trust
healing the sick
I believe the power of the Holy Ghost which you have received has power that will bring you to a place where you dare believe for God to heal, apart from knowing that you have the gift of healing.

Isaiah 53: 1 – 6. (Tanakh Translation)
“Who can believe what we have heard?
Upon whom has the arm of the Lord been revealed?
For he has grown, by His favour, like a tree crown,
Like a tree trunk out of arid ground.
He had no form or beauty, that we should look at him:
No charm, that we should find him pleasing.
He was despised, shunned by men,
A man of suffering, familiar with disease.
As one who hid his face from us,
He was despised, we held him of no account.
Yet it was our sickness that he was bearing,
Our suffering that he endured.
We accounted him plagued,
Smitten and afflicted by God;
But he was wounded because of our sins,
Crushed because of our iniquities.
He bore the chastisement that made us whole,
And by his bruises we were healed.
We all went astray like sheep,
Each going his own way;
And the Lord visited upon him
The guilt of all of us.”
When I meditate on this passage, my spirit aches with the realization of what Jesus the Messiah bore for me. How can we deny the sacrificial ministry of our Lord, by still holding in our lives those things that he bore, to free us?

Man's Way
Reading the news of each day, I am continually amazed at the destruction, of people’s lives. It isn’t a new thing happening in our country or around the world. The Scriptures give plenty of good advise for us humans, however, we are free to exercise our own will.
For many who are thrust into public positions, which have a high profile, their lives are all too evident of wrong decision-making. It could be in the areas of leadership, finances, relationships, emotional outbursts, substance use or any other aspect of the life they live.
O man, how reliable are your thoughts?

THE PROFIT OF THE WORD OF GOD

HEALING
Exodus 15:26 (Tanakh Translation)
He (God) said, "If you will heed the Lord your God diligently, doing what is upright in His sight, giving ear to His commandments and keeping all His laws, then I will not bring upon you any of the diseases that I brought on the Egyptians, for I the Lord am Your healer."
Towards the end of November, I had a change to one of my eyes. Today, I saw an eye specialist who gave me the all clear. I will see the original eye doctor in 3 months to see if there are any changes. I currently have the same vision I had previous to the hemorrhage.

Oh, Death, who's afraid of you now?
It was sin that made death so frightening and law-code guilt that gave sin its leverage, its destructive power. But now in a single victorious stroke of Life, all three—sin, guilt, death—are gone, the gift of our Master, Jesus Christ. Thank God!
We can never exhaust the Word.

PRAYING IN HARMONY
Acts 4:31-32 (Message)
While they were praying, the place where they were meeting trembled and shook. They were all filled with the Holy Spirit and continued to speak God's Word with fearless confidence.
The whole congregation of believers was united as one—one heart, one mind! They didn't even claim ownership of their own possessions. No one said, "That's mine; you can't have it." They shared everything.
How the master can move among the needs and perishing when He has the right of way in the Church!

Lord, teach us to pray together in such unity and in one accord that by faith we might see you do great and mighty things in the church. Amen.

We must have something better than sand, and everything is sand except the Word. There isn’t anything that will remain.

THE LIVING WORD IN YOU
John 1:1-4 (Message)
The Word was first,
the Word present to God,
God present to the Word.
The Word was God,
in readiness for God from day one.
Everything was created through him;
nothing—not one thing!—
came into being without him.
What came into existence was Life,
and the Life was Light to live by.
God in you is a living substance, a spiritual nature, the living Word. You live by another life, the faith of the Son of God.

Christ's life showed me how, and enabled me to do it. I identified myself completely with him. Indeed, I have been crucified with Christ. My ego is no longer central. It is no longer important that I appear righteous before you or have your good opinion, and I am no longer driven to impress God. Christ lives in me. The life you see me living is not "mine," but it is lived by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.
Beloved, God would have us to see that no man is perfected or equipped on any lines except as the living Word abides in him.

THE WORD IMPARTS LIFE

The Spirit can make life. Sheer muscle and willpower don't make anything happen. Every word I've spoken to you is a Spirit-word, and so it is life-making.
So, we need the Spirit to bring life into the believer, imparting life through the Word.

And I command you today: Love God, your God. Walk in his ways. Keep his commandments, regulations, and rules so that you will live, really live, live exuberantly, blessed by God, your God, in the land you are about to enter and possess.
It is only the truth of God’s Word revealed to our hearts that can make us so much greater than any idea of ourselves that we had.

And now we look back on all this and thank God, an artesian well of thanks! When you got the Message of God we preached, you didn't pass it off as just one more human opinion, but you took it to heart as God's true word to you, which it is, God himself at work in you believers!
What an awful disgrace it is for you to change the Word of God because of your feelings.

SHOPPING
When you do your weekly shopping in a supermarket, which isles do you favour?
The healthiest isles are usually around the outer extremes of the supermarket. These contain, Fruit, Vegetables, Breads, Meats, and Diary Products.
The central shelving contains most of the highly processed foods, which contain many additional additives, which are a minefield for the human body. The best part about the many of the products on these shelves is the Highly Visible Packaging.
Let’s shop wisely!!!!

Meanwhile, the moment we get tired in the waiting, God's Spirit is right alongside helping us along. If we don't know how or what to pray, it doesn't matter. He does our praying in and for us, making prayer out of our wordless sighs, our aching groans.

Meanwhile, the moment we get tired in the waiting, God's Spirit is right alongside helping us along. If we don't know how or what to pray, it doesn't matter. He does our praying in and for us, making prayer out of our wordless sighs, our aching groans.
We have entered in with God into the mind of the Spirit, we will find that God ravishes our hearts.

THE WORD AND THE KINGDOM

Let the Word of Christ—the Message—have the run of the house. Give it plenty of room in your lives. Instruct and direct one another using good common sense. And sing, sing your hearts out to God!
The kingdom of heaven is within us, within every believer. The kingdom of heaven is the Christ, is the Word of God.

PRAYING IN PRISON
2 Cor. 6:3-5 (Message)
Don't put it off; don't frustrate God's work by showing up late, throwing a question mark over everything we're doing. Our work as God's servants gets validated—or not—in the details. People are watching us as we stay at our post, alertly, unswervingly . . . in hard times, tough times, bad times; when we're beaten up, jailed, and mobbed; working hard, working late, working without eating;
In response to being released from prison in Switzerland, in the middle of the night, I said, “No, I will only go on one condition. That is that every officer there is in this place gets down on his knees and I pray with all of you.”

BELIEVE THE WORD

They weren't in love with themselves; they were willing to die for Christ.
It is one thing to read the Word of God. It is another thing to believe it.

FOUNDATIONS

I've banked your promises in the vault of my heart so I won't sin myself bankrupt.

By your words I can see where I'm going; they throw a beam of light on my dark path.
The Word not only gives you foundations, but it puts you in a place where you can stand, and after the battle keep on standing.
Nothing else will do that.

PRAYER PLACE
Genesis 28:16-17, 19 (Message)
Jacob woke up from his sleep. He said, "God is in this place—truly. And I didn't even know it!" He was terrified. He whispered in awe, "Incredible. Wonderful. Holy. This is God's House. This is the Gate of Heaven."
He christened the place Bethel (God's House). The name of the town had been Luz until then.
Just like Jacob in prayer, we begin at the bottom and go to the top.

Father, I come to Bethel, Your house of prayer, to start on earth and to climb into the heavenlies for I long to be with You. Amen.

SEEDY START
I saw a young man this morning, and asked, how he was going? His response was, better today, I was a little seedy yesterday. What a good way to start a New Year, feeling crook! Well I guess the year might improve for him.

The Pharisee posed and prayed like this: 'Oh, God, I thank you that I am not like other people—robbers, crooks, adulterers, or, heaven forbid, like this tax man. I fast twice a week and tithe on all my income.'
"Meanwhile the tax man, slumped in the shadows, his face in his hands, not daring to look up, said, 'God, give mercy. Forgive me, a sinner.' "
Jesus commented, "This tax man, not the other, went home made right with God. If you walk around with your nose in the air, you're going to end up flat on your face, but if you're content to be simply yourself, you will become more than yourself."
Prayer changes hearts but it never changes God.

THE SHARP WORD

God means what he says. What he says goes. His powerful Word is sharp as a surgeon's scalpel, cutting through everything, whether doubt or defence, laying us open to listen and obey.
We have come into divine resurrection touches in Christ.
