Through a Child's Eyes

The camera lens captures a moment it time.

“Through a Child’s Eyes”

Matthew 18:2 (Msg)
For an answer Jesus called over a child, whom he stood in the middle of the room,

Rehearsals

This year our Singers and Band Rehearsals are on an alternating roster between Wednesday and Thursday nights each fortnight. Last night was rehearsal night for this week. Firstly we had a good sing, in preparation for this Sunday and also preparing for Easter. Then the Band had a great blow, ironing out a couple of weak spots in the new music we have for the next few weeks including Easter music. There were 9 of our 10 players at rehearsal, and everybody put in a good effort, and also had plenty of fun between pieces. It was just one of those nights that you wanted to keep going. Well, I did anyway!!!
We play some good music, with a good sound, and are blessed with the Army’s music publications.

Psalm 33:1-3 (Msg)
Good people, cheer God!
Right-living people sound best when praising.
Use guitars to reinforce your Hallelujahs!
Play his praise on a grand piano!
Invent your own new song to him;
give him a trumpet fanfare.

Unity in the Spirit

Ephes. 4:3 (KJV)
Endeavouring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.

Never try to get the applause of people by a natural thing. Yours has to be a spiritual breath. Your word has to be the Word of God.
Smith Wigglesworth

Holy Spirit, make me a force and power for Your unity within the Body of Christ. Amen.

Is Healing the Main Thing?

Matthew 6:33 (Msg)
Steep your life in God-reality, God-initiative, God-provisions. Don't worry about missing out. You'll find all your everyday human concerns will be met.

But what is the main thing? To preach the kingdom of God and His righteousness.
Smith Wigglesworth

Jesus, You are the One who not only saves the body, but You have saved my soul and spirit. Wholeness is found only in You. Amen.

V8 Supercars

Jamie wins race 1 & 2 at the Clipsal 500 in Adelaide, and is the Winner of Round 1.
Sadly, in the Fujitsu development Series race on Saturday, Ashley Cooper's Commodore hit the wall at the treacherous turn 8, which is a 220km per hour turn. Today the news is that Ashley has lost his fight for life. Our thoughts and prayers are for his family, at this sad time.

Intoxicated by the Spirit

Ephes. 5:18 (Msg)
Don't drink too much wine. That cheapens your life. Drink the Spirit of God, huge draughts of him.

You are so filled with the passion of grace of God, that you are illuminated by the power of new wine – the wine of the kingdom, the Holy Ghost – till your body is intoxicated.
Smith Wigglesworth

Thank You for allowing my life to be filled with the presence within my human body. Fill and intoxicate me, O Holy Spirit, that I might live and move in You. Amen.

Corps Camp 2008

Corps Camp 2008.
Some of the participants.

It was another good Camp, where people relaxed and shared freely with each other.

Acts 2:44 (Msg)
And all the believers lived in a wonderful harmony, holding everything in common.

Our Inheritance Sealed in the Holy Spirit

Ephes. 1:11-13 (Msg)
It's in Christ that we find out who we are and what we are living for. Long before we first heard of Christ and got our hopes up, he had his eye on us, had designs on us for glorious living, part of the overall purpose he is working out in everything and everyone.
It's in Christ that you, once you heard the truth and believed it (this Message of your salvation), found yourselves home free—signed, sealed, and delivered by the Holy Spirit.

Realize that the supernatural power of God is working through you by His Spirit.
Smith Wigglesworth

Holy Spirit, seal me in Your inheritance of glory through the precious name of Jesus. Amen.

Corps Camp

This afternoon we head off to the annual Corps Camp. We are going to Lake Tyres, as the weather will be cool over the weekend, I may not go for a swim in the Ocean. This is a great time of really getting to know each other. I know that people have set some times of quiet talks, so this will be good.
The accommodation is a little better than the picture, but I could not resist.

Acts 2:44 (Msg)
And all the believers lived in a wonderful harmony, holding everything in common.

Full of Faith and the Holy Spirit

Acts 6:5 (Msg)
The congregation thought this was a great idea. They went ahead and chose—

Stephen, a man full of faith and the Holy Spirit,
Philip,
Procorus,
Nicanor,
Timon,
Parmenas,
Nicolas, a convert from Antioch.

He went to sit at the right hand of the Father; but in behalf of the “first martyr,” in behalf of the man with that burning flame of the Holy Ghost power, God’s Son stood up in honorary testimony of him who, called to serve tables, was faithful unto death.
Smith Wigglesworth

Lord Jesus, fill me with faith and the Holy Spirit, that I might blaze with Your Glory like Stephen no matter what I face in life. Amen.

Prayer

Today a Man for the community around the hall came to pray.
He came in and lay down at the foot of the cross on the platform.
How I would have loved my congregation to see this simple act.
He was asking for forgiveness. I pray that he has found Jesus.
I was able to pray with him before he left the Hall.
What a privilege we have as God’s children.

John 3:16 (Msg)
"This is how much God loved the world: He gave his Son, his one and only Son. And this is why: so that no one need be destroyed; by believing in him, anyone can have a whole and lasting life.

The Life of the Spirit

Numbers 14:6-9 (Msg)
Joshua son of Nun and Caleb son of Jephunneh, members of the scouting party, ripped their clothes and addressed the assembled People of Israel: "The land we walked through and scouted out is a very good land—very good indeed. If God is pleased with us, he will lead us into that land, a land that flows, as they say, with milk and honey. And he'll give it to us. Just don't rebel against God! And don't be afraid of those people. Why, we'll have them for lunch! They have no protection and God is on our side. Don't be afraid of them!"

If you get filled with the Spirit, you will never murmur again.
Smith Wigglesworth

Holy Spirit, fill me with Your boldness and power to go on with You and not to waver or murmur. Amen.

The Spirit Reveals the Son

Romans 5:5 (Msg)
In alert expectancy such as this, we're never left feeling shortchanged. Quite the contrary—we can't round up enough containers to hold everything God generously pours into our lives through the Holy Spirit!

The Spirit lifts. The Word of incarnation moves. The Life Divine operates. The Spirit quickeneth.
Smith Wigglesworth

Holy Spirit, grow the image of Christ in me that I might reveal His love in my life. Change me and make me ready to be your servant through the transformation of your presence in my life. Amen.

Major Travel

My trusty new steed.

I have discovered some unused muscles.

Walk and Live in the Spirit

Romans 8:4 (Msg)
And now what the law code asked for but we couldn't deliver is accomplished as we, instead of redoubling our own efforts, simply embrace what the Spirit is doing in us.

No man is able to walk spiritually without being in the Spirit. He must live in the Spirit.
Smith Wigglesworth

Holy Spirit, immerse me that Your zeal will run hot in my life for Jesus Christ. May I never stop growing more and more Christlike through Your power. Amen.

God Doesn't Bring Disease

Psalm 67:1-2 (Msg)
God, mark us with grace
and blessing! Smile!
The whole country will see how you work,
all the godless nations see how you save.

I have looked through my Bible, and I cannot find where God brings disease and sickness.
Smith Wigglesworth

In Jesus’ name, I rebuke disease and sickness. Lord God, You are the Great Physician. I declare healing in Your mighty name. Amen.

Holy Spirit - Wind, Person and Fire

John 7:38-39 (MSG)
Rivers of living water will brim and spill out of the depths of anyone who believes in me this way, just as the Scripture says." (He said this in regard to the Spirit, whom those who believed in him were about to receive. The Spirit had not yet been given because Jesus had not yet been glorified.)

A river of water is always an emblem of the Word of God, the Water of life, and so when the Holy Ghost comes, He clothes and anoints the Christ who is already indwelling the believer.
Smith Wigglesworth

Oh fire, wind and person of the Holy Spirit, out of me flow living waters that others might know Jesus through me. Amen.

Faith and Healing

Matthew 9:22 (NIV)
Jesus turned and saw her. "Take heart, daughter," he said, "your faith has healed you." And the woman was healed from that moment.

God wants you to have a living faith now, to get a vital touch from Him, shaking the foundation of all weakness.
Smith Wigglesworth

Lord, I desire a touch from You that will shake the foundation of all my weakness. Grant me the faith to receive the healing You have for me in Jesus’ mighty name. Amen.

Fishing

I found this picture and felt it was pretty close to my fishing style.

The Spirit in You

John 14:16 (NIV)
And I [Jesus] will ask the Father. And he will give you another Counsellor to be with you for ever.

Where once we were, now He reigns supreme, manifesting the very Christ inside of us, the Holy Ghost fulfilling all things right there.
Smith Wigglesworth

Spirit of God, go with me and immerse me with Your living water that You might reign in all of me. Amen.

Divine Healing

103:2-3 (Msg)
O my soul, bless God,
don't forget a single blessing!
He forgives your sins—every one.
He heals your diseases—every one.

The gift of the Holy Spirit, when He has breathed in you, will make you alive so that it is wonderful.
Smith Wigglesworth

Lord, thank You for the wonderful sense of life that has been given to me through Your Holy Spirit. I seek to be used by Your Holy Spirit that I might use Your gifts for Your glory. Amen.

Why Wait on the Holy Spirit?

Acts 1:4-5 (Msg)
As they met and ate meals together, he told them that they were on no account to leave Jerusalem but "must wait for what the Father promised: the promise you heard from me. John baptized in water; you will be baptized in the Holy Spirit. And soon."

Cease from your own works so that God can work mightily in you to will and to do His good pleasure.
Smith Wigglesworth

Holy Spirit, purify my heart, my life. Flow in me and through me, now. Amen.

The Holy Spirit Quickens

Romans 8:11 (Msg)
It stands to reason, doesn't it, that if the alive-and-present God who raised Jesus from the dead moves into your life, he'll do the same thing in you that he did in Jesus, bringing you alive to himself? When God lives and breathes in you (and he does, as surely as he did in Jesus), you are delivered from that dead life. With his Spirit living in you, your body will be as alive as Christ's!

Do not be afraid to claim the quickening, life-giving power of the Holy Spirit. That is power over all sin, power over all disease.
Smith Wigglesworth

Holy Spirit, quicken my body with your divine nature and glory. Amen.

Healed By his Stripes

Isaiah 53:5 (Msg)
But it was our sins that did that to him,
that ripped and tore and crushed him—our sins!
He took the punishment, and that made us whole.
Through his bruises we get healed.

She was moving backwards and forwards, gasping for breath. When I prayed the Lord said to me, “Read Isaiah 53.” When I got to the fifth verse, the woman shouted, “I am healed!”
Smith Wigglesworth

Jesus, by Your stripes I am healed. Amen.

Sanctified By The Spirit

1 Peter 1:2 (Msg)
God the Father has his eye on each of you, and has determined by the work of the Spirit to keep you obedient through the sacrifice of Jesus. May everything good from God be yours!

The sanctified mind is so concentrated in the power of God that the saint thinks about the things that are pure and lives in holy ascendancy, where every day he experiences the power and liberty of God.
Smith Wigglesworth

Sanctify me, Holy Spirit, that I may be filled with You, not me. Amen.

Cricket

Today we played Monash Uni, at Churchill. It was an overcast day, with a heavy shower just before the start of play. We batted first, and I was the fifth wicket to fall. After batting for 42 overs I was LBW for 27, and we were 5 ~ 163. Finishing our 47 overs with a total of 200. We then restricted the scoring of Monash to win by 14 runs.

It was a tight and exciting game, and both teams had a great match. Only, ours was a little better, with a win.

Fullness of the Spirit - His Baptism, His Best!

Acts 1:5 (Msg)
John baptized in water; you will be baptized in the Holy Spirit. And soon."

Any number of people are satisfied with “good” – that is justified or salvation. Other people are satisfied with “better” – that is a satisfied life, purified by God. Other people are satisfied with the “best” – that is the fullness of God with revelation from on high.
Smith Wigglesworth

Heavenly Father, I thank You for the goodness of Your salvation and the going on with You through sanctification, the baptism of Your Spirit and the fullness of You in my total being. Amen.

Our Chief Executive - The Holy Spirit

John 14:26 (Msg)
The Friend, the Holy Spirit whom the Father will send at my request, will make everything plain to you. He will remind you of all the things I have told you.

You need the Teacher, which is the Holy Spirit, to bring all things to your remembrance.
Smith Wigglesworth

Holy Spirit, speak to me. Teach me that I may know, understand and apply the Word. Amen.

Hindering Evil Spirits

1 John 4:1
My dear friends, don't believe everything you hear. Carefully weigh and examine what people tell you. Not everyone who talks about God comes from God. There are a lot of lying preachers loose in the world.

The mediums had tried every possible thing they could for over an hour to get under control. Then the light went up and they said, “We can do nothing tonight. Some here believe in the blood.”
Smith Wigglesworth

A million thanks, Lord, for the blood of Jesus. Cover me, my family and all around me with the powerful blood of Jesus. Amen.

It Is Finished

John 19:30 (NIV)
When he had received the drink, Jesus said, “It is finished.” With that, he bowed his head and gave up his spirit.

Oh, the devil said for three weeks, “You cannot do it.” I said, “It is done.”
Smith Wigglesworth

Lord, by faith we claim Your completed, miraculous work in our lives. It is finished! Amen.

Casting Out Demons

Mark 5:8-9, 12-13 (Msg)
(Jesus had just commanded the tormenting evil spirit, "Out! Get out of the man!")
Jesus asked him, "Tell me your name."
He replied, "My name is Mob. I'm a rioting mob.". . . . .
The demons begged him, "Send us to the pigs so we can live in them." Jesus gave the order. But it was even worse for the pigs than for the man. Crazed, they stampeded over a cliff into the sea and drowned.

Her very eye flashed with demon power. “In the name of Jesus,” I said, “I command you to leave. Though you are many, I command you to leave this moment in the name of Jesus.” That day she was made as perfect as anybody. Praise the Lord!
Smith Wigglesworth

At the name of Jesus, every demon must flee. Amen.

Healed by God's Resurrection Touch

Acts 3:6-7 (Msg)
Peter said, "I don't have a nickel to my name, but what I do have, I give you: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, walk!" He grabbed him by the right hand and pulled him up. In an instant his feet and ankles became firm.

Don’t you know this resurrection touch, this divine life? This is what God has brought us into.
Smith Wigglesworth

Touch me, Lord, with Your resurrection power, Your blessing and Your joy. Amen.

Filled With The Spirit

Ephes. 5:18 (Msg)
Don't drink too much wine. That cheapens your life. Drink the Spirit of God, huge draughts of him.

The reason the world is not seeing Jesus is because Christian people are not filled with Jesus.
Smith Wigglesworth

Fill me Holy Spirit. May those people with whom I come into contact daily see only Jesus when they look at my life. Make me a divine likeness of God. Amen.

Salvation And Healing

Mark 2:5,10-11. (Msg)
Impressed by their bold belief, Jesus said to the paraplegic, "Son, I forgive your sins." . . . . .
Well, just so it's clear that I'm the Son of Man and authorized to do either, or both..." (he looked now at the paraplegic), "Get up. Pick up your stretcher and go home."

When God speaks, it is as a nail in a sure place.
Smith Wigglesworth

Jesus, You are my salvation and my healing. I believe that You alone can set me free from sin and sickness. Amen.

History

My Grandparents on my mother’s side, and three of their 15 children are buried in this site. My mother was born in July 1923, and coped not only with the loss of siblings, but also a younger sister had polio as a child. This is the house where they all lived.

Healing Without Laying On Hands

Mark 6:56 (Msg)
Wherever he went, village or town or country crossroads, they brought their sick to the marketplace and begged him to let them touch the edge of his coat—that's all. And whoever touched him became well.

When the presence of the Lord is there to heal, it does not require hands. Faith is the great operation position. When we believe God, all things are easy.
Smith Wigglesworth

Lord, I need no touch but Your’s to heal me. If You but touch me, Lord, I will be healed. Amen.
