No Jumper or Coat

For most of the year I simply wear short sleeve shirts. It has an amazing reaction on people who are rugged up to the eyeballs with fleecy clothing. Well, it has an impact anyway!
When we were stationed in Kadina, in South Australia, Bob, the manager of one of the Hotels said that I had got him in trouble. When I asked how? He informed me that on visiting a business across the road from his hotel the owner asked if he had joined the Salvos, as he was not wearing a jumper? One thing about a country community, everything you do is noticed.
Two of our Home League ladies, who work in the jumble shed, are starting to become accustomed to my dress code. The other day it was quite overcast and brisk, and they said that I was still working on my suntan.
What amazes me is the staff in businesses such as the bank wear heavy clothes in the winter, and light clothes in the summer, but the temperature in the bank is the same 22 degrees all year round.
In the end, I guess that I’m just different!

1 Peter 2:9 (MSG)
But you are the ones chosen by God, chosen for the high calling of priestly work, chosen to be a holy people, God's instruments to do his work and speak out for him, to tell others of the night-and-day difference he made for you—
