As a young child, I was always fascinated with the tools in my father’s toolbox. In particular, the spirit level, and the plumb line. Practical play was to use these tools to measure the perpendicular, and the horizontal, of anything in view.
One of the amazing phenomena was the variation from what the eye perceived as flat, or vertically correct.
I wonder, in this age of laser tools how the children learn, and practise.
Am 7:8 And the LORD asked me, “What do you see, Amos?” “A plumb line,” I replied. Then the Lord said, “Look, I am setting a plumb line among my people Israel; I will spare them no longer. (NIV)
The plumb line for this age is, JESUS!
