Matthew 5:1-2 (Message)
When Jesus saw his ministry drawing huge crowds, he climbed a hillside. Those who were apprenticed to him, the committed, climbed with him. Arriving at a quiet place, he sat down and taught his climbing companions. This is what he said:. . . . . . . . .

Jesus’ taught what we know as, ‘The Beatitudes’.
I have had the amazing privilege of sitting on the hillside near where Jesus sat down to teach. For me it was exciting, just to know that I was where Jesus had been.
As I had read this passage of the Scriptures previously, I had no idea what the location was like. Sitting on this hillside, I observed that the area was similar to an area near where I grew up. Not only did I feel at home with the surroundings, I could also imagine Jesus teaching with me as part of the crowd that had followed him.
It was simply an ordinary place, where ordinary people, listened to an extra-ordinary person – JESUS.
Today is no different. In ordinary places, ordinary people, can meet an extra-ordinary person – JESUS.
